"I stayed the night after hiking in the porcupine mountains. It's truly a one stop shop. Food and entertainment on location. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere at the bar was great! Shout out to the bartender that made me a pizza and kept refilling my water and adding fresh lemon wedges!"

"Very convenient to have fuel, lodging, restaurant/bar, general store, bowling alley all in one location. You pay a little more for that convenience though. Quiet location off by itself with direct trail access. Large parking area for easy in/out with trailers. Rooms are larger than most others motels which is nice when you have extra riding gear. It was quiet in the rooms which was a very pleasant surprise (most motels you can hear everything thru thin walls). Mini fridge..."

"We spent a week at The Konteka Black Bear Resort while on a hiking trip recently, and we can't wait to go back! The rooms are larger than average, and very clean & comfortable. The staff is exceptional in both service, and kindness. The food is wonderful. And to top it all off, they have everything you could need, such as restaurant, bar, bowling alley, convince store, and even gas! We also got to see the bears from the dining..."

"We ate at the restaurant and went bowling. Can’t speak to the rooms. Food was good, service was great and you can’t beat an environment with bears and bowling. Whole experience felt like you were stepping back in time and was charming to say the least. Early dinner and bowling came to $150 (with tip and no alcohol) so not an all the time thing but for a one-off it was worth it."

"Probably the best place you can stay in that part of the Upper Peninsula. Most other places I stay that are that remote are quiet….rustic….which I don’t mind, but Konteka is a real resort. Plus you get to see black bears almost every evening and morning!"

"Backpacked by snowmobile in January, this place has it all! Gas for sleds, convenience store, supper club, bar, souvenir shop, motel with clean rooms and last, a bowling alley! my second time staying here, always a great time!"

"We had a terrific home cooked style meal at Konteka in White Pine, MI. I had the fried chicken and it may be the best I ever enjoyed. Au gratin potatoes were excellent. Kind, prompt, helpful servers! I will be back!"
